Gallery of 20th and 21st Century Art, written by Tomasz Jeziorowski, Izabela Mościcka, Magdalena Nowak, Piotr Rypson, translated by Richard Bialy, Simon Włoch, graphic design: Mesmer Center, 40 pages, illustrated, Warsaw: The National Museum in Warsaw, 2013, ISBN 978-83-7100-907-5
The guide to the Gallery of 20th and 21st Century Art, which was opened in February 2013, is constructed so as best to accompany the visitor. Each room has its concise description, while the booklet also features reproductions of selected works representative for individual exhibition spaces. The gallery presents Polish art, because this is how the museum’s collection was shaped throughout the last several decades. Showcasing less known works rather than those presented multiple times was a deliberate strategy; the authors also plan to regularly change the arrangement of the exhibition, so as to introduce visitors to subsequent important works as well as new purchases.
